Mental Health

Over the years it has become so important taking care of yourself and your mental health but, why do people not look happier? Were people happier when there wasn’t any social media? Is social media what’s destroying society? All good questions that we all have asked ourselfs at some point in life but no one seems to respond them.

I don’t think mental health is being happy every single day and doing tons of things. I mean, mental health looks different in each and every one of us but to me that’s fake. Mental health is a balance. No one can be happy every single day, no one does a tons of things because it makes them happy, they do it to be occuppied and to not think about how they really feel. Mental health to me is knowing how to control your emotions, knowing how to feel them without letting them affect you. We have so many emotions that we don’t know how to describe sometimes and that becomes frustrating so now we have the emotion that we don’t know and frustration who comes with anger. Feeling is either really beautiful or really painful, the important thing about having emotions is knowing how to not let them affect you in a way that you could get really hurt. You have to learn how to manage them.

“You can still love yourself and be a work in progress”

Now,being busy it’s okay because we all have important things to do but sometimes people over-do so they are not alone with their thoughs that lead to feelings that they don’t want to feel. To me feeling and understanding your feelings is an important part of mental health that people seem to overlook at.

Only you are responsible for your mental health,no one else, you have the power of controlling how your emotions affectt you, there’s always going to be terrible people in this world who don’t know how their actions affect others and we can’t really control that, but you know what we can control? How it affects us. I have come a long way with my mental health, some days i’m so happy i can’t believe my life and some days i can’t even get out of bed. I know what it’s like being on top of the world and on the ground. I am not perfect and i let my emotions drive me most of the time but i’m on the process of learning how to control them and not letting them affect me and my life. We all find peace somewhere i personally find it in writing, baking and cooking; it gives me so much peace and it either makes me think and find solutions or it makes my mind go blank and i love both of them. The key to mental health is being aware that you will never be 100% happy every single day, and that’s okay! you’re gonna have your lows and we all do, the important thing is how you decide to recover from them and how you let them affect you.

Social media has made us believe that if you wake up at 5:00am, drink your greens, go to workout and then do a hundred more things, that’s being happy, that’s what happiness looks like. That is totally wrong. Of course those girls aren’t going to show you how they cry at night, their family/boyfriend issues, because social media is just a escape from the real world and you don’t show all your true self only a part of it and that’s not wrong, you can’t let something that a girl posted because she looks pretty or is just aesthetically pleasing bother you, social media is for that for a escape of the real world, so you can escape the horrible news and the world that can be so terrible sometimes.

You are the only responsible for your mental health, only you can take care of it and only you can decide how it affects your life what others do. It’s not easy being in peace with your mental health, but like i said, it’s a long way. There’s gonna be some good days and there’s gonna be some days where your anxiety, depression, panick attacks get crazy but you are stronger and you have to take one day at a time.

Go to therapy if you want to, do what makes you get that inner peace and take some time for yourself.

All the love <3.
